Board of Zoning Adjustment

A new Board of Zoning Adjustment was appointed January 1, 2011. This Board consists of five (5) Lowell residents: one (1) council member, two (2) planning commissioners and two (2) citizens-at-large. This Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6pm in the Lowell City Council Chambers. The term for each "At Large" Board seat shall be for three (3) years. For each position held by a Planning Commissioner or City Council, the term will be concurrent with the Council or Commission seat. Board members shall remain on the Board until a replacement appointment and confirmation occurs.

It is the duty of this Board to hear and decide appeals from administrative decisions; to hear and decide special exceptions to terms of an ordinance; and to hear and decide variances from terms of an ordinance.
