Fire Department-
Emergency Weather
The City of Lowell has a mission to
make available the best emergency
notification and educational program
possible. This will include
notification, via emergency radio,
all watches, warnings and other
local and regional emergencies such
as possible flooding, hazardous
material releases and terrorist
acts. We will also provide
educational programs through the
city web site and hard copy. Please
look at the following links for
further information.
WEATHER RADIOS
We now have the Weather Alert Radios
at the Fire Station. They will be
pre-programmed to receive Weather
Alerts, Advisory's and Warnings for
Benton County. This programming can
be changed to include other counties
if you desire. You will need to
program the time after you put in
batteries or plug the unit in. The
manual provided with the radio will
show you how do all programming. The
cost of the units will be $30.00
each. You may pick yours up at the
fire department offices between 8AM
and 4PM Monday through Friday. You
will need to provide documentation
that you live inside the Lowell City
Limits. You can pay with cash or
check.
The Fire Department Staff will be
glad to assist you with any problems
or programming you may have with
your radio.
The Fire Department also has a
number of Smoke Detectors available
to families who cannot afford them.
Please contact us on how to receive
one. It is very important that you
and your family are protected
against fires. It is our goal to
insure that all our citizens are
protected.
Please contact your City Council
members and let them know if you
support this project or not. For
further information please contact
the Fire Department at 770-0166 or
